Who’s trying to steal the election?

So, the right wing media (i.e. Fox News) is now saying that ACORN is trying to steal the election for Barack Obama. First of all, voter registration fraud cannot steal the election. It is registration fraud…no one is going to vote under the name Mickey Mouse and registering multiple times under your real name does not mean you get to cast multiple ballots. I guess the Republicans just don’t understand that part of it. Can someone explain to me how that will steal the election for Barack Obama?

It is true that Barack Obama has some loose ties to ACORN. Obama represented ACORN in 1995 along with the U.S. Department of Justice in a case against the state of Illinois because they were not implementing the Motor Voter law. Obama also provided 2 hours of unpaid training to some of their staff years ago. The Obama campaign paid $800k to Citizen Services, Inc., an affiliate of ACORN, for get out the vote efforts. So what?

In 2006, John McCain was the keynote speaker at an ACORN sponsored event. John McCain supported ACORN and its immigration reform efforts and said that they (or their members) are what makes America special. Now, because he is so behind in the polls, he is attacking a group that he once considered an ally?

The real stealing of the election is the Republican attempts to suppress voters especially black voters. In every election since 1964, the Republicans have been on a mission to keep black voters from the polls. Why, you may ask. Because the Republicans know that the more black people who actually vote, the harder it is for the Republicans to win their races. The Republican party motto should be “Keep Racism Alive!”

Check out these voter suppression reports:

Republicans try to suppress student voters by telling college students if their parents claim them as a dependent on their income taxes, then they have to vote where their parents live.

Republicans try to suppress voters in Ohio by trying to stop the same day voter registration and voting by absentee ballot. You can register and vote on the same day in Ohio for 5 days because of a law the Republicans passed in 2005. Funny how when it was to their benefit it wasn’t an issue!!

Republicans try to suppress low income and minority voters by intimidating them with these trumped up ACORN allegations that they are making against the Obama campaign.

Republicans try to suppress black voters with laws that require you to show a driver’s license or ID card to vote.

Other ways the Republicans try to suppress voters.

Know your voting rights!

  • Conservatives need to send a message to the idiots running the McCain campaign that they don’t know what they are doing and that they are causing McCain to lose this election.
Just because they engineered a victory for George Bush doesn’t mean they can use the same old tactics to fight off Obama.
    This isn’t 2000 or 2004.
    There’s just 3 weeks left
If they can’t get a cohesive campaign together they’re going to go down as the gang who couldn’t shoot straight.

  • It doesn’t help that Sarah Palin is a complete moron!
