Keep your programs from running at startup.
A lot of the the time people have issues with programs running at and as a result your computer grinds as it boots. Well, there are tools out there to help you get through the pain. I present to you, AutoRuns. AutoRuns is a little known utility, from Microsoft, that will give you access to all services, programs, DLLs, drives, etc. From here you will be able to shut down everything that is not necessary at startup. All this for the low price of $0.00. Now, to warn you, be careful what you turn off, some of these files are important. Have fun!
