As I watch the tea party news coverage on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News I can’t help but wonder what motivates these people.  My first assumption was that these people were out of work and pissed about it so they decided to join in.  Then when I saw the guns coming out, I assumed that these were gun nuts trying to peacock for television.  Now I really don’t know what the motivation is anymore.

I can’t believe that these people are truly bothered with a government run health care insurance program.  Let me rephrase that a little, not all of these people are bothered by a government plan.  A large portion of the people I see on the news networks are on Medicare.  The rest seem to be either be employees of health-care companies or tin-foil hat wearers.  Either way they don’t seem to be rational about their objections and never seem to have a solution to the problem.

I really have a problem with the government is bad approach to this debate.  Let’s be honest, government run institutions aren’t all run poorly.  I know that it’s easy to throw that attack out there, but it’s truly stupid.  If you have a problem with government institutions then don’t ever call 911, it’s not for you.  The fire and police department are government run and no one ever yells socialism at them.  In fact a lot of cops are probably staunch conservatives.

Bottom line, if you don’t like government then boycott the police, the fire department, and the military.  If you don’t you are a socialist!

In this video, Keith Olbermann explains how water-boarding is in fact torture. Let’s face it folks, it is torture! The thing that annoys me about this debate is the fact that people continue to come on TV and try to justify this act. What do we say when one of our soldiers gets caught and is tortured? What happened when the beheading video was put online and our entire country was shocked and outraged? Now all of a sudden torture is good? I know that most Republicans believe that politics is just for show, but come on this is lunacy. Watch the video and then tell me that water-boarding isn’t torture.

Here is exactly what I expected to happen when I saw the conservative group 2M4M the other day. I knew this was going to happen, the question was how fast would this show up. Well, here is Andy Cobbon and his very good video about what the founders of this group were thinking. Enjoy!

This is fantastic news! Republicans are going to get together to protest on April 15th by having tea parties. Although I don’t know what this is going to do for them, I think that at least they have a passive outlet. Hopefully they don’t spend the wee hours of the 15th shooting innocent people because Obama blinked. Check out this segment by Rachel Maddow in which she has video of randoms talking about how Obama isn’t a citizen. I loved the guy riding around on a motorized pony.

How can you protest taxes at the same time you are getting a tax break? It’s as if the republican nuts don’t understand what is going on, but instead just want the republican team to win. Essentially, our political system has become a Super Bowl match Democrats vs Republicans. This is pretty stupid seeing as some republicans have some decent ideas. The problem is that they want all their ideas instead of compromise. That’s stupid governing and that is why our country is jacked right now.

What this spectacle reminds me of is the ridiculous crap that happened during the campaign. The only people that seem to show up to these rallies are the crazy republicans. Those people who tend to attack opposing viewpoints with weapons and body armor. At any rate, I hope the 15th goes well for them. I can’t wait to watch and laugh at the lunatics.

Here are some videos of the Republican protesters as they hold a rally in Dallas. The thing they can’t understand is that the debt was run up by Bush and his administration. At least realize that your party is accountable for some of the crap that we are going through now. You are quite brainless if you don’t see the hypocrisy in this stuff.

And of course here are the folks in the crowd who have no idea what the facts are, but try very hard to fake it.
