John McCain: Former Member of the U.S. Council for World Freedom
The U.S. Council for World Freedom (USCWF) is the U.S. chapter of the World League for Freedom and Democracy (formerly the World Anti-Communist League). The USCWF is an ultraconservative, right-wing group that has been found to have illegally supplied firearms to guerrillas in the Iran-Contra Affair. The USCWF was placed on the Anti-Defamation League’s watch list in 1981 because the organization had increasingly become a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.
John McCain was not only a member of the USCWF, John McCain was on the Board of Directors of the USCWF. It is true that John McCain distanced himself from the USCWF about 20 years ago. However, if you are going to attack Barack Obama with guilt by association for something that William Ayers did 40 years ago when Barack Obama was 8 years old, then you should make sure that you don’t have these kinds of skeletons in closet.
John McCain is not connected to the USWCF by association. John McCain made the choice to join this group himself. What does that say about John McCain?
